Say Goodbye to CAN to FMS Converter Challenges: Introducing the new FMS Gateway Compact

Installing FMS converters can be a time-consuming process. Additionally, these devices require a separate CAN Bus reader to function, adding to the total cost. But with our new compact gateway product, we've found a way to eliminate these challenges. Learn more about our solution below.

Traditionally, FMS Gateways have acted as a middleware, facilitating communication between a contactless CAN reader and a telematics device, such as an Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) unit. Inventure's contactless CAN reader efficiently extracts information from the vehicle's internal CAN Bus data stream and sends it to the connected FMS converter. The converter then utilizes precise algorithms and vehicle-specific protocols to process the CAN bus data, converting it into FMS data. This FMS data is subsequently transmitted to the chosen AVL unit.

The brand new FMS Gateway Compact integrates the CAN reader, eliminating the need for an additional device. This not only saves installation time but also simplifies the process. Just position the Compact device on the CAN Bus network wires and connect it to the AVL unit. Moreover, the device is equipped with preloaded firmware capable of automatically detecting over 2000 different vehicle models from Inventure's database, making the installation process even more streamlined.
